Grinch's shaping in the 2018 version seems to be in the middle when compared to the previous two versions. The 1966 version was inspired by the image creation in Dr.'s book. Seuss, and Jim Carrey's version is a bit uglier to fit into our real world. Benedict Cumberbatch's `` The Grinch '' is more meek, perhaps the intention to match the way directors Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier wanted to build this character. Although more gentle but The Grinch this version retains the classic evil smile that any viewer can recognize. His lighting and gestures have been well performed by Illumination, which fits in with the badness and brings laughter to the viewers.
Most important is the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch and it is clearly different from the previous two versions. If Boris Karloff had a deep voice, Jim Carrey said that his bizarre voice, Benedict had a higher tone and perfectly suited the ghost's character. The audience will not be too surprised with the change of voice from the British actor if they know that he used to play roles that require completely different voices such as the extremely deep bass of the actor.
