The original emembrance Day was called Armistice Day. In 1921, the Canadian Parliament passed the Armistice Day legislation. On the first Monday of the week, November 11, memorial activities will be held. But at this time, Armistice Day coincided with the Thanksgiving Day holiday. For most of the 1920s, Canadians celebrated this day without much community activity. Veterans and their families gather in churches and around local memorial areas.
