During teenage years, people will often discover that they have sexual thoughts as well as being attracted to others. For some, those feelings and thoughts can be so intense and difficult to understand. It may be especially true for people with romantic thoughts or sexual thoughts about someone of the same gender as them. Sometimes they will think, “What do these feelings mean? Are I gay? ”
Feeling in love with someone of the same gender does not completely mean that the person is gay as well as not necessarily just liking someone of the opposite sex which means that the person is heterosexual. For teenagers, it's normal to feel attracted to someone, or have sexual thoughts about people of the same sex and the opposite sex. It is just a way that your thoughts "filter" through the mess of gender emotions only.
